Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead and coach teams to adopt agile methodologies, promoting open communication and engagement among team members for continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals.
• Utilize advanced communication, facilitation, and presentation skills to manage stakeholders and communicate organizational impediments to leadership.
• Develop and implement operational and transformation plans, prioritize tasks, and manage resources to achieve product goals efficiently using metrics and evidence-based decisions.
• Identify trends and contribute to the development of new policies and best practices within the discipline.
• Align teams with the product vision and sprint goals, ensuring a strong prioritized backlog in collaboration with the Product owner.
• Facilitate scrum events, including daily scrum, refinement, planning, review, and retrospective.
• Foster a collaborative environment within teams for open dialogue and productive conflict resolution.
• Champion continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and increase productivity, coaching teams on improvement items.
• Maintain Agility metrics like churn, velocity, and defect density, seeking opportunities for overall effectiveness improvement.
• Communicate organizational impediments to leadership and clear impediments for the team, embracing continuous learning.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
• 10+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in coaching teams on agile methodologies and project management.
• Advanced knowledge of product development lifecycle stages, methodologies, and best practices for effective team guidance.
• Expertise in agile delivery and approaches like Scrum, Kanban, and XP, with the ability to guide teams through complex projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging and influencing stakeholders at various organizational levels.
• Understanding of Engineering development practices and adherence to core Agile values and principles.
• Servant leadership mindset and Agile attitude, equating failure with learning opportunities.
• Proficiency in Agile and Scrum frameworks for Product Development and delivery organization.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and collaborate with people at various levels, leveraging skills from coaching, facilitation, and conflict resolution.
• Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as JIRA, with estimation and planning skills for maintaining a healthy backlog.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
• Formal training on Agile coaching, such as recognized coaching certifications.
Business Specific Requirements:
• 10+ Years of Industry Experience: Relevant experience in the field of software development/lifecycle
• 8+ Years of Recent Job Family Specific Experience: Experience in roles such as Scrum Master or Agility (not Project Manager or Business Analyst).
• 6+ Years of Recent Experience in Banking/Financial Vertical
• Tooling Experience (Proficiency):
o MS Office Suite/365: Proficient
o Jira: Proficient to Advanced
o Jira Align: Intermediate to Proficient
o MS Tools (Outlook, Teams, etc.): Proficient
• Experience Supporting 3-4 Scrum Teams: Not just 1 or 2 teams
• Experience with Agile Coaching
Supplemental Requirements:
• For U.S.-based position, candidates should have 6+ years of U.S.-based experience.
