Job Description Duties: Position Summary:-The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for maintaining a highly professional environment, ensuring a collaborative relationship with patients and physicians.-The MA will assist with the non-clinical tasks required to ensure smooth patient access and flow including scheduling patients which can include follow up office visits, imaging and lab work, preparation of appropriate chart elements.-The responsibilities of this position would also include pre-authorization process and acting as a liaison between the providers and patient.-The Medical Assistant will work collaboratively with staff to ensure all proper records are received and all appropriate testing is completed prior to appointment/surgery date.-The Medical Assistant will provide updates to the staff and patients on timing and status for all the above tasks that could have an impact on the patient’s health and/or testing and treatment options.-Ensures even patient flow and continuous communication within Hoag and referring physician offices.-May be required to start at a different location throughout the workweek or travel to multiple sites.Skills: Required Skills & Experience:-Graduate of Medical Assistant program. OR-One year previous medical back-office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system environment. -Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.-Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Preferred Skills & Experience:-Minimum one (1) year previous medical back-office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system environment.-Working Knowledge of EPIC or other Electronic Medical Record system ‘EMR’.-Qualified bilingual or multilingual candidates.Education: Required Education:-HS Graduate or Equivalent GED.-Graduate of MA Program. Preferred Education:-Associate's or Bachelor's in healthcare field. Required Certifications & Licensure:-BLS. Preferred Certifications & Licensure:-N/A This is the pay range that RightSourcing (a part of Magnit) reasonably expects to pay someone for this position, however, as a supplier your expected pay range may vary and/or include certain benefits like: Stipends (for clinical traveler workers only), Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K [include any compulsory benefits such as commissions, incentive bonuses, etc. if applicable].
