Position Summary:
The NICU RN delivers high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to neonatal patients by utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role requires collaboration, critical thinking, and strong communication skills to support both patients and their families throughout the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver patient care in accordance with clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.
Manage pain effectively using both medication and non-pharmacological methods.
Support families by providing clear, compassionate communication and education about the patient's condition and treatment.
Develop and implement individualized discharge plans, including medication education and follow-up care.
Anticipate and respond to patients’ age-specific needs and changing clinical conditions.
Ensure smooth handoffs by communicating potential concerns or anticipated developments.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and resolve complex cases.
Participate in unit-level performance improvement, readiness for accreditation, and patient satisfaction efforts.
Engage in leadership development and attend relevant trainings as available.
